Nice to meet you

Here's the story from my first pocket film cam as a gen x teenie to me traveling the world as a "serious" freelance photographer now since 2001. Before that, I finished my MA for interior design. I never worked in the business after graduation, but I always work with all the senses that make design happen: elements, style, proportion, thinking in perspective and motif, creating images, feelings and atmospheres. 

I then studied freelance journalism and photography in Sydney where I got into architectural photography - and there I went, combining the passion for photography and the diploma in interior architecture. On top, the constant desire to travel, to be honest. 

Since then, there have been so many different shootings, challenges and clients.

I‘ve taken photos on a rolling sailing ship when everyone else got seasick, been hanging out of a trunk doing car to car shots, wrestled with a horde of journalists for a picture of Angela Merkel and produced a limited art-edition photo book by myself.

I love both an opulent, ecclectic styling as much as sleek minmalism. In architectural photography, I love calmth and I believe in the strength of central perspective. At the same time I love chaos, people and an authentic, reportage style shot. I adore film and large format camera work as well as polaroids and photoshop. I‘ m addicted to props, research and inspirations. I obsess about details. I‘m a hands-on, capable-of-improvisation and raising-brilliance-on-deadline, burning to create and to make it happen person. 

I tell stories with pictures. By translating it all into pictures and motifs. By knowing the game. By caring for details. By spinning the golden thread. By regarding each element by itself and in the holistic context. By knowing exactly by heart, by experience and by profession what needs to be done, where to be placed - and how. By using sketches and claims to develop the way to show and say who you are. By styling, shooting, creating, finding the right words and creating bespoke, authentic designs. Because pictures tell stories.

You asked for prints since I-don't-know-when and I am thrilled to deliver, eventually! I created this wonderful, edited and curated online gallery with prints on demand in fine art quality.
